For the first time ever, the Municipality of Badajoz is organising  a long weekend of re-enactments and events at multiple sites to honour the four sieges of Badajoz.

Special emphasis will be placed on the 29 day siege by the French under Marshal Soult that commenced on the 26^th of January, 1811, against the Spanish garrison which was gallantly commanded by General Menacho.
