As most of our members will be aware, the Covid restrictions in Portugal continue with relentless severity. The official position is to dissuade would-be travellers from making plans for this summer, let alone the month of May, while there are still grave doubts about travelling freely in Europe. 

The constant prolongation of restrictions makes it impossible to plan for the immediate future, so with much regret we announce that the ceremony in the Cemitério dos Ingleses, Elvas, habitually held on 14^th May, will not take place this year, nor will the commemorations be taking place in La Albuera this May.

The Committee very much regrets having to have taken this decision and sincerely hopes to see all Friends and guests at the Annual Ceremony in 2022.
